1. Verizon shoots self in foot, immediately after vowing it wouldn’t

    Oh, the irony. Verizon COO Lowell McAdam told the Wall Street Journal this morning “I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot,” promising the iPhone would come with an unlimited data plan on the Verizon network. He said offering a tiered plan like AT&T would mean fewer unhappy iPhone customers would defect to his network.

    Hours later, he backtracked on his promise, announcing that Verizon would indeed offer a tiered data plan for the iPhone after a “limited time offer” of unlimited data. Ouch! -David
